Kanister’s Play Puts Him in Magic World Championship XXVI

Piotr “Kanister” Głogowski is more than emotes on MTG Arena. The lockdown deck master of the Magic Pro League came prepared to Mythic Championship VII. Using the perfect deck for his skillset, Piotr took home the trophy in Long Beach and earned the final invitation to Magic World Championship XXVI without losing a match.

Piotr’s Winning Deck – Jund Sacrifice

“It was the deck perceived as the best deck in the format,” he said. “Sometimes, I get tricky with my deck choices. This time I just decided to go with a tier one strategy. When I last chose ‘the best deck’ for a format I got my Pro Tour Ixalan Top 8—generally good things happen.”

“It’s a super powerful card. I made the mistake of putting the third copy in my sideboard. It requires an immediate answer from opponents, and different answers than your other important cards.” “It’s very good against two popular decks: The mirror match [of other Sacrifice decks] and Jeskai Fires of Invention decks. I wanted access to four of them, and I wanted to cast them early and often.”
