Chinese translation launching for the Lunar New Year

Melbourne, Victoria – January 11, 2022 – Brawsome’s Aussie sci-fi cop drama is getting some new text translations, with Simplified and Traditional Chinese releasing for the Lunar New Year (Feb 1st, 2022), and German planned for release in April 2022.

Switch versions of Warp Frontier are adding the Korea and Hong Kong stores. Launching the Switch version on the Chinese store proved to be prohibitively difficult, so it is hoped that Chinese players can discover the game through Steam, or GOG. This is Brawsome’s first attempt at a Chinese translation, and its first game getting any kind of translation via Steam or GOG. Jolly Rover (2010) was previously translated into Polish and Japanese, while MacGuffin’s Curse (2012) received no translations. Warp Frontier was developed on a tight indie budget, and localisation was accommodated for, but ultimately fell off the priority list. Early revenue provided the opportunity to explore localisation options, with Chinese and German selected to be the first languages to experiment with, due to audience size and enthusiasm. It will be interesting to discover how post-launch translations will affect game sales, and whether this should be budgeted for in future Brawsome titles. Chinese translation is being handled by Toto Translation Studio:, and German handled by Warlocs: Both have been great to work with so far! About Brawsome
