Women in Esports partners with Rix.GG for £2,000 Huntress Trials Valorant Tournament
In November 2019 the British Esports Association launched the Women in Esports initiative set up to promote inclusivity and diversity in the esports industry.
Since its launch, Women in Esports has focused on helping to increase female participation within the industry, starting with its very own FACEIT organiser page.
Through further progressions, Women in Esports has announced a partnership with UK esports organisation Rix.GG to host a women’s Valorant tournament: The Huntress Trials.
This will take place on January 30th and 31st 2021 from 12pm to 10pm each day, with the main broadcast being hosted on the British Esports Twitch channel.
The purpose of this partnered tournament is to promote inclusivity and diversity within the esports industry. The Huntress Trials is an open tournament created specifically for openly femme identifying or non-binary individuals, including but not limited to biological female, transgender women, openly femme-identifying, femme-presenting, or femme adjacent non-binary people.
Efforts have been made to include femme identifying or non-binary individuals within every stage of the event behind the scenes and in the public eye.
The competition will feature up to 16 teams in total from across the UK and the EU in a 5v5 double-elimination format, meaning if you lose two BO1 matches, you are knocked out.
