Following an explosive weekend on the battleground, six of Europe’s best teams have progressed to PGS Berlin
Natus Vincere was at their best this weekend as they swept through the PGS Berlin: Europe Qualifier finals, securing first place to progress to PGS Berlin. They will be joined by Team Liquid, WTSG, Exalt, ENCE and Northern Lights who took the remaining qualifying spots, with FaZe Clan having already qualified after finishing in the top four at PGC 2019. The event – which took place at Berlin Messe – will see qualifying teams earn a minimum of $20,000 USD when they compete at PGS Berlin. Those who did not qualify will still receive a share of the $60,000 USD PGS Berlin: Europe Qualifier Drop-in Bonus, with exact figures depending on where they finished.
The PGS Berlin: Europe Qualifier finals was split across three days, with three groups of eight playing against each other across the weekend. This meant each side had to battle through 12 intense matches, with all results contributing to an overall leaderboard. The top six then qualified for the main event.
Exalt took the first day by storm, ruthlessly disposing of opponents in an almost robot-like state that saw them top the table with an impressive 74 points. They were closely tailed by Team Liquid, WTSG and TSM.
On day two, however, it was Team Liquid’s turn to show what they could do. A dominant display, which featured several exciting clashes with WTSG, saw them pick up one chicken dinner and cement their place at the top with 103 points. There were also standout performances from Natus Vincere, Adepts, Northern Lights and RYE Gaming who won a match each, staking their claim for a place at PGS Berlin.
The final day saw an outstanding display from Natus Vincere as they beat Team Liquid to the top spot. One of the standout moments of the day came in the last match, where TSM, Northern Lights and ENCE went head to head for a place in the top six. Despite TSM looking comfortable, Northern Lights and ENCE managed to leapfrog them to finish in a qualification spot.
UK players vard and MiracU were on top form for WTSG who came in 3rd place.
Regarding PGS Berlin and a new date for the event, PUBG Corporation is still evaluating the situation and will announce when ready. For the latest information on PUBG Esports in general, please visit www.pubgesports.com/ and follow @pubgesports on Twitter.
