devcom 2019 presents further top-class speakers. Today eight additional speakers have been announced for this year’s edition of the gamescom game developer event. They will join the previously revealed developers, which include Noah Falstein, Catharina Bohler, David Fox and Ryūichi Nishizawa. devcom is taking place in Cologne/Germany from August 18th to 19th.

Three developers from Ubisoft Massive are joining the ranks of renowned speakers at this years’ devcom: Creative Director Christian Pana will explain how the experience gained throughout Tom Clancy’s The Division’s 3-year lifespan helped to create and release a polished and highly acclaimed sequel. Adam Olsson, Ubisoft Massive’s Lead Environment Artist, will speak about how the team treated Washington D.C. in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 not only as a game world but a character. His colleague, Audio Director Simon Koudriavtsev, joins the Atmos track to talk about gun- and spatial-sound design in the game.
Jason Hickey, Lead Environment Artist at Insomniac Games, will deliver his speech on how the studio created Spiderman’s Manhattan and filled it with life. His colleague, Character Artist Dustin Brown, will join him and talk about the studio’s technical approach towards the creation of Spiderman’s character models, suits, and surfaces.
Christina Seelye will also be part of the developer conference on August 18thand 19th in Cologne. The CEO of Maximum Games is going to explain, what a modern publisher’s service profile looks like and what today’s publishers look for in a new game.
They are joined by Compulsion Games’ Art Director Whitney Clayton, another top speaker, who is looking forward to sharing her insights into the art creation process of We Happy Few. The question of „Game Design or Storytelling – What Comes First?“ will be tackled by Spiders’ CEO Jehanne Rousseau (Greedfall).
