AVerMedia Technologies, Inc., a leader in digital video and audio, today announced the winners of Dream Streamer 2018, its inaugural community-oriented competition to put the latest 4K-capable streaming hardware in the hands of rising gaming content creators. Kicking off in October and culminating at TwitchCon 2018 in San Jose, the streaming community’s premier show, the program put entrants through two rounds of competition to determine the next big Dream Streamer, the content creator with the best talent and drive to become the next streaming star.
Game streaming is one of the fastest growing entertainment sectors, with over 100M monthly users on Twitch alone and thousands of new content creators vying for attention each day. In conjunction, PC and console gaming are increasingly moving to stunning 4K visuals that require powerful PC capture rigs and cards like AVerMedia’s Live Gamer 4K UHD lineup to capture in their full glory. To help the best new creators get the dream hardware they need to up their game, AVerMedia and other sponsors rolled out Dream Streamer 2018 to give talented content creators a unique platform to showcase their skills and win a coveted Dream Streamer top-of-the-line 4K game capture rig grand prize, exclusive streaming opportunities, and additional prizes.
The grand prize, a $3,000 “Dream Streamer” gaming and streaming PC packed with hardware from additional sponsors, CyberPowerPC, Cooler Master, Western Digital, and NVIDIA as well as a full suite of AVerMedia streaming accessories including its highly lauded Live Gamer 4K capture card, was awarded to ChosenDroid, aka Xavier Bennett, a 20 year-old variety streamer and artist, based in Virginia. After votes from expert streamers, partners, and community were tallied, ChosenDroid was awarded the grand prize on the basis of his talent, passion, interaction, and hard work with his community in line with the contest’s tenets of Dreaming, Streaming, and Sharing. He will also be offered regular slots on AVerMedia streaming channels, opportunities to stream new 4K-capable games, and more. His reaction video can be seen here.
“It’s an honor to have gotten this opportunity to showcase my channel, let alone be chosen as the Dream Streamer 2018 winner by AVerMedia and their partners,” said ChosenDroid, aka Xavier Bennett. “I went into this trying to have as much fun as possible, win or lose, and I want to congratulate all the other participants for their excellence in the fields of dreaming, streaming, and sharing.”
The runner-up prize was awarded to both FrameLoss and BondofGames based on a points tie for second place, as each recorded strong performances to receive an AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K or ULTRA capture card as well as other prizes and streaming opportunities. Finalist awards of an AVerMedia streaming card and gear were awarded to Popushii and Shryku for their creativity and excellence. In addition, all winners have been offered AVerMedia Partner status to continue to help take their streaming to the next level.
“We want to thank our partners and all the talented content creators who worked hard to showcase their skills in Dream Streamer 2018,” said David Kao, Marketing Director of AVerMedia. “Dream Streamer will be an ongoing program that we will continue to evolve and build out, and in doing so, we’ll be revealing additional opportunities for influencers to be recognized and rewarded for their fantastic skills and passion in the future.”
