NRG Esports has announced a brand new collaboration with technology leader Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. The new collaboration expands throughout the entirety of the NRG organization and its teams, with particular focus placed on the mobile esports platform, and the ASUS ROG Phone. In a separate release, ASUS announced that the ROG Phone is available for pre-order today.
The companies unveiled the collaboration on Thursday with an announcement video focused on NRG’s “Clash Royale” roster. The team, which participates in mobile game company Supercell’s franchised “Clash Royale League”, showcased the organization’s new jersey set and the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 based ASUS ROG Phone.
“The rise of mobile esports over the past few years has been incredible to watch,” said Brett Lautenbach, President of NRG Esports. “With our recent participation in the Clash Royale League, now was the time for NRG Esports to find a premiere partner to bring first in class quality to our players. We’re thrilled for all of the exciting content and activations we’ll be creating with Quallcom and ASUS ROG.”
The ROG Phone is built to win and is powered by the world’s fastest speed-binned 2.96GHz octa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 Mobile Platform featuring the Qualcomm® Adreno™ 630 GPU which provides powerhouse graphics and performance. To ensure continued performance, The ROG Phone’s unique GameCool vapor-chamber cooling system — with detachable AeroActive Cooler for an extra cooling boost — sustains blur-free high frame rates in the heat of battle, while its no-compromise AMOLED display blends a blazing 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time with gorgeous HDR visuals. The ultra-comfortable design of ROG Phone includes unique side-mounted ports, and the enhanced, ultra-responsive game controls — including two programmable ultrasonic AirTriggers and advanced force-feedback haptics — let gamers focus all their skills on the game, giving them the edge they need for total domination. A unique, full set of accessories further enhances gameplay. The ROG phone is available with two different storage configurations; a 128GB and 512GB version.
“Our Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform is optimized premium performance, efficient battery life and delivers superior gameplay, speed and console-quality graphics” said Don McGuire, Vice President, Global Product Marketing, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We’re excited to bring together the gamer-trusted ASUS ROG Phone alongside our high-performance graphics software optimizations to pack the ultimate power for NRG teams while training and in the esports arena.”
