Disney, Blizzard enter live esports deal for 'Overwatch'
Walt Disney networks have entered an exclusive deal for live broadcasts of Blizzard's Overwatch League, providing the next milestone in comprehensive esports coverage.
ESPN and Disney XD will broadcast coverage, which will begin with playoff coverage today on both networks and include the Grand Finals July 27-28. A recap show with highlights will air on ABC July 29.
The coverage will also be streamed live on the ESPN App and DisneyNOW.
It's the first broadcast of an esports championship on ABC.
Disney ESPN has marked an arrangement with Activision Blizzard for live TV scope of the Overwatch League, an esports alliance.
