devcom 2018: Blizzard Entertainment's Saralyn Smith completes the keynote speaker line-up
Martine Spaans and Philomena Schwab extend the international speaker line-up of the developer conference
Cologne, Germany – July 11 2018 – Today the organizers of devcom 2018 announced more top-class female speakers for the international developer conference. Saralyn Smith from Blizzard Entertainment completes the lineup of keynote speakers. Martine Spaans and Philomena Schwab have also confirmed their participation, joining the already announced speakers Siobhan Reddy and Kate Edwards. devcom takes place on August 19 and 20 in the run-up to gamescom in Cologne.
Saralyn Smith recently took on the role of Executive Producer for BlizzCon®, Blizzard’s annual gaming convention celebrating the global community and world-class esports that have grown around the company’s iconic games. Prior to this role, she led global community development, supported numerous global game launches, and served in a leadership capacity over operational groups in global publishing and customer service at Blizzard. Since first joining Blizzard in 2011 she has been on support teams for all game releases and major content updates across the company’s Hearthstone®, StarCraft®, Diablo®, Heroes of the Storm®,Overwatch®, and World of Warcraft® franchises.
After working for companies like Ubisoft and Spil Games, Martine Spaans established her own mobile game label Tamalaki.com. She has worked with more than 1000 developers over the last ten years, is an absolute casual game publishing expert and helps independent developers to bring their games to mobile platforms.
Philomena Schwab, co-founder of the independent studio Stray Fawn Studio, plays an important role in the Swiss gaming industry. Thanks to the success of her game Niche, she is listed among the Forbes Top 30 most influential 30-year-olds in the tech-business.
Siobhan Reddy is also part of devcom's top-class speaker lineup. The Co-Founder of Media Molecule is responsible for the LittleBigPlanet series and is currently working on the exciting project Dreams. Industry veteran Kate Edwards, who was Executive Director of the International Game Developers Association between 2012 and 2017, will also give a talk. She is also the founder of the consulting company Geogrify, which specializes in content culturalization and the impact cross-cultural information and globalization have on the information industry.
