Daimler, Bosch to test robo-taxi program in California using Nvidia system
Germany's Daimler and Bosch unveil a plan to deploy self-driving taxis in California's Silicon Valley region next year as part of a test program of fully automated vehicles designed for city driving.
The companies say the pilot project will demonstrate how mobility services such as car sharing, ride-hailing and multi-modal platforms can be intelligently connected to shape the future of mobility.
Nvidia s selected as the supplier of the artificial intelligence platform for the program, using the DRIVE Pegasus system.
"The advantages that Nvidia has in graphics-chip development, and the subsequent leadership in AI processing, gives it a jumpstart that no other company can match," praises AI analyst Ryan Shrout.
