RIOT GAMES REVEALS TALENT LINEUP FOR NEW UK ESPORTS COMPETITION, FORGE OF CHAMPIONS
The broadcast for the first qualifying tournament starts today, Wednesday 27th June, at 17:30 BST exclusively on Twitch
London, 27.06.2018: Forge of Champions, the new official UK League of Legends esports competition from Riot Games, kicked off with the first of four qualifying tournaments on 22nd June. 72 teams have been competing in knockout matches and today will see the very first live broadcast revealing the newly established UK teams and talent. The broadcast starts today at 17:30 BST and continues at the same time tomorrow. Semifinals and the Grand Final will air on the 4th and 5th July: https://www.twitch.tv/lvpuk
Today Riot Games can also reveal the full talent lineup for Forge of Champions, which consists of influential figures in the UK esports community, including Ceirnan “Excoundrel” Lowe, a prominent commentator who holds a position as an advisor for the British Esports Association and whose expertise spans multiple competitive titles, and Dan “Foxdrop” Wyatt, the UK’s leading League of Legends influencer and a caster for the EU LCS.
This week’s broadcast will be led by Tadhg “CelticTiger” Brennan, who has been casting League of Legends for three years and hails from Irish Collegiate Esports; pro player turned commentator Dan "Aux" Harrison, who played with exceL Esports in the UK Masters; and Joshua "Dowsey" Dowse, who has covered multiple international tournaments across a range of competitive titles. This dynamic team will offer play-by-play commentary and in-depth analysis over the next three months in the lead up to the Grand Final in September.

Forge of Champions offers new and established teams an opportunity to climb the competitive ladder, and will be Riot’s biggest commitment to the UK competitive scene to date, with a £50,000 prize pool and two spots at the EU Masters up for grabs. Each of the four qualifying tournaments will see 128 new UK teams compete in order to provide multiple opportunities for new players to rise through the ranks.
