Uber launching Lite app for emerging markets
Uber launching Lite app is steering a lighter variant of its application for developing markets following its Southeast Asia exit.
Uber Lite just takes up 5MB of capacity and has a 300-millisecond reaction time. The application will work in territories with slower web speeds and with restricted versatile information.
Uber Lite is currently accessible in India and Uber wants to dispatch the application in more nations not long from now.
Uber faces neighborhood rivalry in India from Ola, which has the sponsorship of Tencent and SoftBank and a $7B valuation.
Uber Lite keeps the core functionality of our rider app, and has many of its existing features like in-app support and the ability to share your trip with friends and family.
But with a reimagined interface, it was designed to make booking rides easier and quicker in spotty connectivity and slower than average internet speeds, on basic Android phones, and for people with limited data plans through the following new features:
