Output Factory for Adobe InDesign Addresses macOS Security Bug

Zevrix Solutions announces Output Factory 2.2.2, a maintenance update to company’s output automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Output Factory automates printing, exporting and preflighting from InDesign and offers batch processing, export as single pages, layer versioning, preflighting and more. The new version addressed a macOS security bug that invoked app translocation for no reason, which prevented Output Factory from recognizing the version of InDesign the plug-in was installed with.

Toronto (ON) Canada – Zevrix Solutions today announces the release of Output Factory 2.2.2, a compatibility update to company’s output automation plug-in for Adobe InDesign. Output Factory automates and simplifies workflows of printers, prepress bureaus, ad agencies and publishing houses worldwide by offering batch processing with powerful and time-saving output options.

The new version addresses a bug in Apple security frameworks on macOS 10.12 and later, which affects a small number of users. The bug results in invocation of app translocation – a security feature that causes a launched app to run from a randomized path – even when installing software from developer-signed disk images. This issue caused Output Factory to always open the latest version of InDesign regardless of the version the plug-in was installed with. The new update eliminates this problem even when app translocation is invoked.

“With Output Factory, I’ve got our magazine production down to six minutes from three hours,” says Jeff Middleton, a Toronto, Canada based graphic designer. “Once I set up all my presets, it was insane how fast it was. I load all my InDesign docs into Output Factory, press play, go grab a coffee and come back to my entire magazine.”

Output Factory supports printing as well as exporting to PDF, PostScript, EPS, Flash, IDML, EPUB and several image formats. It offers the following key features:

* Batch output of InDesign files
* Supports print, PDF, PostScript, EPS, TIFF, EPUB and other formats
* Export InDesign files as single pages
* Layer versioning: export layer combinations as single files
* Variable output file names
* Run custom scripts during processing
* Output to several formats at once
* Automatic preflight

Pricing and Availability:
Output Factory can be purchased from Zevrix website for $169.95 USD (Lite version $119.95), as well as from authorized resellers and Adobe Exchange. Trial is also available for download.
