Pokémon Go international release delayed due to server issues
Fandom FARE – Pokemon GO
Pokémon Go has had something of a rough launch. After shooting to the top of the iOS app store chartswithin a day of its launch, players have been reporting consistent connection errors on social media that prevent them from searching far and wide for The Pokémon Company’s famous creatures.
Because of these connection errors, Niantic CEO John Hanke tells Business Insider that the company will delay the global rollout for Pokémon Go while it works to resolve the server crashes. Hanke says launching in territories like the United Kingdom and the Netherlands is “paused until we’re comfortable.”
Launch day stability errors are nothing new for online games, but Hanke says the player demand forPokémon Go far outstrips anything the company had expected. “We thought the game would be popular, but it obviously struck a nerve,” Hanke tells Business Insider.
